@TomynhoSk No, it isn’t. But installed on SSD it feels like a minimalistic distro 😉
@stancugenius Yeah, its a smartphone cam… 🙂
lol the camera isn’t able to keep up with ubuntus speed :))
@JayandJenn07 Solid State Drive
@derbuffer And I don’t think Ubuntu is minimalistic distro..
without an ssd, I can boot ubuntu 10.04 in 5 seconds in my virtual box.
😀 but this is pretty nice, too.
@derbuffer hey speaking of power Intel Pentium 4 and 1 gig of ram thats what i got so in my perspective your pc is powerful 😀
Sick ! Linux FTW !
I got like 14 seconds from a 7200 rpm hard drive. Older comp too, I will try it on my mac and then we will see fast. I bet if I tell it to boot directly to ubuntu, it will take 20 seconds from the power button.
@JayandJenn07 Intel X25-M G2 80GB
@Sekcja0serowa Very powerful computer? 😉 I dont think my computer is that powerfull 🙂
lol.notebook start from bios to grub loader menu is like 15seconds.. phoniux seriously sucks
whats ssd?
hmm… minimalistic distro on a very powerful computer,nice 🙂
@murderslastcrow If we get rid of the ancient BIOS and replace it with some kind of OpenBIOS or EFI system we can expect a super-fast boot time because the kernel could be loaded directly into RAM on boot, rather than the x86 bootstrapping currently used… which sucks, because my laptop takes 27 seconds to boot, 10 seconds of that is on the BIOS.
wow! that’s really fast. i have to upgrade to ssd asap.=)
@murderslastcrow well he is actually used older specs in some respect, he could upgrade to a core i7 machine with faster ram and then it would been even faster.
superfast lol! 7-8 Seconds to boot ! 😀 NICE . WANNA HAVE 22222!!! 😀
